The HAN University Scholarship is offered as grants worth €12,500 to selected students to support their education and personal achievements while studying bachelor’s or master’s degree in the Netherlands.
The HAN Scholarships are offered by the HAN University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science.
If you have made significant achievements in your education and personal development, and you are from a country outside the EU/EEA, you could be a good candidate for one of the HAN scholarships.
If you do not meet these criteria, consider looking for other scholarships from organizations in your own country or on the Study in NL website.
Eligibility Requirements For The HAN Scholarship
To be considered for the HAN Scholarship, you must:
- Be a national of a country outside the EU/EEA.
- Do not hold a degree from an educational institution in the Netherlands.
- Have not previously been enrolled in a degree program at a Dutch university or university of applied sciences.
- Be accepted into a full-time English-taught degree program at HAN.
- Have an IELTS score of at least 6.5, a TOEFL iBT score of at least 90, or a Cambridge Certificate (CAE or CPE).
Benefits
- The HAN Scholarship offers a € 12,500 grant to successful applicants.
- For this scholarship you receive € 2,500 in the 1st semester and € 2,500 in the 2nd semester. After that you can receive € 2,500 per year for the following 3 years of study.
Required Documents
To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

- A short video of yourself. Max. 3 minutes. Address the following:
– Describe yourself and the things you excel in
– What would your former teachers or your friends tell us about you?
– Tell us about your chosen course of study at HAN
– Imagine you’re working in a team. Based on your personality and/or experience, what role would you have and why?
– What are your career ambitions? What and where do you think you’ll be 10 years from now (professionally speaking)? - Your Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Method of Application

- Apply for a degree program at HAN. Make sure you get accepted before the relevant date (April 1 (Fall) or October 1 (Spring))
- Prepare and forward your application documents.
- You’ll receive an email with notification of the award on: June 1 (Fall) or November 3 (Spring).
- Send written acceptance of the scholarship by the date stated in your award notification letter.
