Job Summary
As a Tandoor and Curry Chef, you will be responsible for crafting delicious and authentic Indian dishes while maintaining high culinary standards. You’ll contribute to menu innovation, oversee kitchen operations, and help train kitchen staff under the guidance of the Head Chef.
Key Responsibilities
- Cooking and Preparation: Prepare a variety of authentic Indian dishes, particularly from the Curry and Tandoor sections.
- Ingredient Management: Select and source high-quality, authentic ingredients to maintain the integrity of dishes.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure the kitchen meets cleanliness and hygiene standards according to regulations.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels to ensure the kitchen is always prepared.
- Cost Management: Maintain profitability by managing product costs while delivering exceptional quality.
- Menu Development: Contribute to menu design and innovate new dishes to meet customer preferences.
- Staff Training: Support the Head Chef in training and mentoring kitchen staff to ensure a productive work environment.
Key Skills
- Proven expertise in Indian cuisine, specializing in Tandoor and Curry dishes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Indian spices, herbs, and traditional cooking methods.
- Creativity and innovation in culinary practices.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience in a fine dining restaurant setting (preferred).
- Ability to uphold high standards of kitchen hygiene and safety.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a chef specializing in Indian cuisine.
- Culinary qualification or relevant culinary training.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3 certification.
- Professional and proactive approach to kitchen operations.
- A passion for delivering high-quality dishes that meet customer expectations.
