2024 Co-creation Hub Management Trainee Programme 

Co-creation Hub is Africa’s leading technology innovation ecosystem builder on a mission to accelerate the application of  science, technology and social capital for economic prosperity across Africa.

The Co-creation Hub (CcHub) Management Trainee Program is an immersive and intensive training initiative designed to develop the next generation of leaders and innovators in the technology and social enterprise sectors. CcHub, a leading innovation center in Africa, launched this program to identify and nurture young talents who have the potential to drive significant impact within the tech ecosystem and beyond. The program provides participants with hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to work on real-world projects that address critical challenges in various industries.

The Management Trainee Program is structured to give participants a comprehensive understanding of how innovation hubs operate and how they can leverage technology to create social change. Over the course of the program, trainees rotate through different departments within CcHub, including business development, project management, community engagement, and product innovation. This rotational structure allows trainees to gain a holistic view of the organization’s operations and develop a versatile skill set that is applicable to a wide range of roles within the tech and social innovation sectors.

Participants in the program are given the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that align with CcHub’s mission of promoting social innovation. These projects often involve collaborating with startups, corporate partners, and non-profit organizations to develop solutions that address societal challenges such as education, healthcare, financial inclusion, and environmental sustainability. Through this work, trainees not only gain valuable experience but also contribute to meaningful initiatives that have the potential to improve lives and communities across Africa.

Mentorship is a key component of the CcHub Management Trainee Program. Each trainee is paired with a mentor who is an experienced professional within the tech or innovation space. Mentors provide guidance, feedback, and support, helping trainees to navigate the challenges of the program and develop their professional and leadership skills. This mentorship relationship is instrumental in helping trainees build confidence, refine their career goals, and make informed decisions about their future paths.

In addition to hands-on experience and mentorship, the program includes formal training sessions that cover essential topics such as leadership development, project management, business strategy, and innovation methodologies. These sessions are designed to equip trainees with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in dynamic and fast-paced environments. The combination of practical experience and formal training ensures that participants are well-prepared to take on leadership roles in the tech and social enterprise sectors after completing the program.

Co-creation Hub Management Trainee Program Details

This role is designed to equip trainees with critical management skills and deep organizational knowledge, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. By participating in this program, you will contribute to ensuring smooth management transitions aligned with our succession planning efforts.

This role is for a 24 months fixed term contract period and may require you to travel based on Project/ Programme needs.

Qualifications

Skills Needed

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with financial software and tools such as quickbooks, zoho amongst others.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good stakeholder management 
  • High ethical standards and integrity in professional dealings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across locations.
  • Passionate about  innovation, and social change

Qualifications 

  • 4 – 6 years of experience.
  • Appreciation and understanding of working in a fast-paced, project-based environment and multinational company.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies,  Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge, and stay updated with industry trends and best practice
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
