2024 European Union (EU) Youth Empowerment Fund.

The EU Youth Empowerment Fund is a flagship of the EU’s Youth Action Plan. It will provide direct financial support to youth-led initiatives around the world. Global in its reach but focused on local solutions, the EU Youth Empowerment Fund has been co-designed with young people to provide easier, youth-friendly access to finance. It is implemented via the Global Youth Mobilization, a grassroots movement of the Big Six that invests in and empowers young people to lead solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.

The EU Youth Empowerment Fund through the Global Youth Mobilization will make low-barrier funding accessible for young people at the grassroots level, minimising “red tape” and creating opportunities relevant to the needs and priorities of young people, including vulnerable, marginalised and underrepresented populations. The Youth Empowerment Fund will focus on youth-led decision-making and solutions related to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals at a local level, with a particular focus on environment, climate change and gender equality,

This fund targets various aspects of youth empowerment, including education, employment, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. By offering grants and financial assistance to projects and programs that benefit young people, the EU Youth Empowerment Fund aims to create a more inclusive and dynamic society. These projects can range from vocational training and internships to mentorship programs and community development initiatives, all designed to enhance the skills and opportunities available to young Europeans.

One of the key goals of the EU Youth Empowerment Fund is to reduce the disparity in opportunities among young people from different socio-economic backgrounds. The fund places a strong emphasis on reaching marginalized and disadvantaged youth, ensuring that they have access to the same opportunities as their peers. This focus on inclusivity helps to promote social cohesion and equal opportunities within the EU.

Additionally, the EU Youth Empowerment Fund encourages active citizenship and civic participation among young people. By supporting initiatives that foster leadership, volunteerism, and community involvement, the fund aims to cultivate a generation of engaged and responsible citizens who are ready to contribute to the democratic process and the broader European community.

The European Union Youth Empowerment Fund represents a comprehensive effort to support the growth and development of young people in Europe. Through targeted financial assistance and a focus on inclusivity and civic engagement, the fund seeks to empower youth to reach their full potential and play an active role in shaping the future of the EU.

The Fund will support mentoring and coaching opportunity.
