2024 GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition for African Entrepreneurs (up to $50,000)\

The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition is an initiative designed to support and celebrate young African entrepreneurs who are driving innovation and impact in the agricultural sector. Organized by Generation Africa, a partnership between the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the African Union, the competition aims to identify, inspire, and reward the next generation of agripreneurs in Africa.

The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize is awarded to two exceptional entrepreneurs – one male and one female – who demonstrate innovative business models, sustainable practices, and a commitment to transforming Africa’s agriculture sector. The prize recognizes not only the entrepreneurial spirit and vision of the winners but also their potential to create positive change and contribute to food security, economic development, and job creation in Africa.

To participate in the competition, young entrepreneurs from across Africa submit their business proposals, detailing their innovative agricultural ventures, social impact initiatives, and plans for growth and scalability. The proposals are evaluated based on criteria such as innovation, viability, scalability, social impact, and environmental sustainability.

After a rigorous selection process, finalists are invited to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges comprising experts from the agriculture, business, and development sectors. Finalists have the opportunity to showcase their ventures, demonstrate their leadership skills, and articulate their vision for the future of African agriculture.

The winners of the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize receive a cash prize, as well as mentorship, training, and networking opportunities to support the growth and expansion of their businesses. Additionally, they become ambassadors for African entrepreneurship, inspiring other young people to pursue careers in agriculture and seize opportunities for innovation and impact.

The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition serves as a platform for young African entrepreneurs to showcase their talent, drive, and creativity in addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing the continent. By recognizing and supporting their efforts, the competition contributes to building a vibrant ecosystem of agripreneurs who are driving sustainable development and prosperity in Africa’s agricultural sector.

Africa’s food sector faces mounting challenges in climate resiliencefood security, and nutrition. The need for groundbreaking solutions has never been greater.
