The Brighter Living Foundation(1) is proud to offer four impactful young leaders the opportunity to participate in the One Young World Summit 2024, which takes place in Montréal, Canada. The Brighter Living Foundation | One Young World Scholarship will support young entrepreneurs who are making a local or global impact in creating a positive societal impact in the following areas ‘Climate & Nature’, ‘Nutrition & Health’, and ‘Social’.
The One Young World Summit is an annual global gathering that brings together young leaders from around the world to discuss and address pressing global challenges. Founded in 2009 by David Jones and Kate Robertson, the summit provides a platform for young people to exchange ideas, share experiences, and collaborate on solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing society today.
Each year, the One Young World Summit convenes in a different city, attracting delegates from over 190 countries representing a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Participants, typically aged 18 to 30, include entrepreneurs, activists, social innovators, business leaders, policymakers, and more, all united by their commitment to creating positive change in their communities and beyond.
During the summit, delegates engage in a series of plenary sessions, workshops, and networking events focused on key topics such as climate change, human rights, social justice, healthcare, education, and economic development. Prominent speakers, including world leaders, Nobel laureates, CEOs, and celebrities, share their insights and experiences, inspiring and empowering delegates to take action.
One of the unique features of the One Young World Summit is its emphasis on action and impact. Delegates are encouraged to develop concrete projects and initiatives that address the challenges discussed during the summit. The One Young World organization provides support, mentorship, and funding to help delegates turn their ideas into reality and drive meaningful change in their communities and beyond.
The One Young World Summit serves as a catalyst for building a global community of young leaders committed to making a difference. Delegates have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, forge partnerships, and join collaborative efforts to tackle shared challenges. Many alumni of the summit go on to lead impactful initiatives, start successful businesses, and advocate for positive change in their respective fields.

Eligibility Criteria For The Brighter Living Scholarships
- Age 18-30
- Reside in Africa, Latin America, Asia-Pacific
- 3-5 years’ experience in agri-food or beauty business (preferably self-owned business)
- Are making a positive impact in one of the three scholarship focus areas. See below for more information on the focus areas.
- Availability to travel to Canada to participate in the One Young World Summit 2024 including the Brighter Living Foundation Scholarship 2024 pre and post Summit programmes. Selected scholars will need to be present in Montréal from 15 – 23 September.

- Participation in The Brighter Living Foundation pre-Summit programme on 16 and 17 September and post-Summit programme on 22 September.
