The 2024 International Law Fellowship Programme is currently accepting applications, with the deadline set for March 22, 2024.

Introduction:

Administered by the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, the United Nations International Law Fellowship Programme aims to offer top-tier training led by distinguished international law scholars and practitioners. Covering a diverse array of core topics within international law, the programme fosters an interactive environment that encourages participants to exchange ideas and experiences, thus fostering greater understanding and collaboration on contemporary international law issues.

Objectives:

This Fellowship Programme seeks to provide qualified professionals, notably government officials and international law educators from developing countries and economies in transition, with the opportunity to enhance their understanding of international law and the legal activities of the United Nations.

Accommodating up to 20 participants from developing nations and economies in transition, the programme facilitates an immersive learning experience at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the Netherlands. Participants engage in lectures and seminars organized by the Codification Division, alongside attending the public international law session at The Hague Academy of International Law.

Led by prominent scholars and practitioners from diverse legal backgrounds and regions, these sessions cover a broad spectrum of international law topics.

The Fellowship Programme is delivered in either English or French.
